Brette Gillman

Brette Gillman

Brette is the President of Graeper Marketing. She brings a wealth of functional and management expertise with 25 years experience in business-to-business strategic marketing and communications. She also has extensive international experience having studied, lived and worked in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Japan.

As a consultant, Brette served as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for First Data International. Brette held management responsibility for global marketing and communications activities across 39 countries. Her team launched several new programs including a strategic messaging platform and brand, a knowledge management program to share know-how globally, an integration process for new acquisitions and an account-based marketing program to support growth with key accounts. She also provided strategic counsel to First Data Corporate Communications and led the launch of the award winning "Straight Talk: The First Data Story" campaign to reposition the company after the Western Union spin-off. She also project managed the communications effort associated with the $26 billion acquisition announcement of First Data by KKR, a private equity firm and the appointment of a new CEO.

Prior to establishing her consulting practice, Brette spent much of her career at American Management Systems (AMS, now CGI), where she specialized in leading integrated marketing campaigns aligned to business strategy and designed for revenue generation. While based in Europe for five years, she managed a global marketing team with responsibility for communications and the go-to-market strategy for CGI-AMS's products and services.

Brette holds a BA from Allegheny College, and studied for her MA in Asian Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, England.

Laurie E. Axelrod

Laurie E. Exelrod

Laurie is a senior marketing and communications consultant with 18 years of leadership experience managing the strategy and execution of a broad range of communication programs. She brings to each assignment a proven ability to leverage integrated communication and change management to achieve business goals.

Prior to launching her consulting business, Laurie spent ten years with American Management Systems (now CGI, Inc.), a global business and technology services firm, where she led the marketing communications staff of 65 responsible for both corporate and business unit programs across six industries. Programs she led included: internal communications, creative services, web marketing, content management, event marketing, direct mail, thought leadership publications, sales campaigns and customer loyalty programs.

She graduated with high honors from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

Beth McDonald

Beth McDonald

Beth is a senior OD/CM consultant who, prior to working with Graeper Marketing, worked for more than 15 years consulting in the public and private sector for a $1B management and technology consulting firm. Her background involves a wide range of consulting experience, including organization development; change management; survey design, development, and implementation; executive development; organization design; process reengineering; shared services implementation; individual self-awareness assessments; development and execution of training programs; team performance assessments; software analysis, design, and implementation; quality assurance management; and large scale project management.

Beth graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters of Science, Organization Development and Human Resources Development.

She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the College of Mt. St. Vincent.

Lee Frothingham

Lee Frothingham

Lee Frothingham is a freelance writer specializing in executive and corporate communications. Lee has helped her clients achieve their objectives by delivering a wide variety of high-quality communications pieces for internal and external audiences.

Through her 20 year career in the fields of healthcare, government, non-profit, financial services and retail, Lee has gained a wealth of experience that applies to all of her projects. In her client interactions, she develops and maintains strong working relationships with leadership teams, manages multiple projects and priorities in dynamic, ever-changing environments and exhibits outstanding skills in accuracy, attention to detail, research and a unique ability to tailor her writing specifically to the needs of any reader.

Prior to becoming a freelance writer, Lee spent seven years with UnitedHealth Group, where she served as Director of Vendor Relations in the management of seven outsourced call centers that supported AARP/UnitedHealth Group Medicare Part D prescription drug products and as Chief Employee Retention Officer, where she developed and implemented highly visible initiatives to improve employee retention for UnitedHealth Group's ten customer service centers, representing over 5,000 employees. In her career, she has also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Thomas Cook Foreign Exchange, the American Society for Training and Development and L.L. Bean, Inc.Lee graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Elementary Education/History, with coursework in Journalism and Reporting.

Kathi Scott

Kathi Scott

Kathi Scott is a communications specialist with experience in creating, developing and executing high-impact strategies for internal and external audiences.

For more than 23 years working in and with both private sector companies and government agencies, Kathi has gained a wealth of experience in areas of executive/employee communications, intranet management, mergers & acquisitions, crisis communications, and all areas of HR communications. She is effective in working within all levels of an organization to help them create new programs and approaches to achieve their objectives. She is focused, flexible and adaptable with excellent team leadership, problem solving and program management skills.

Kathi previously served as Manager, Internal Communications for AMS, where she developed and directed communications programs for this 6,300-person global business and IT consulting firm. Her team was responsible for executing the full range of communications activities aimed at educating audiences about corporate programs, operations and policies. She helped the company launch its first enterprise-wide intranet, which became the primary vehicle for company news as well as a single point of entry to tools and resources. She also implemented web casts to provide financial and business updates to employees worldwide, managing cross-functional team of communications, IT, facilities, and audio/visual staff to deliver these quarterly sessions. She utilized her HR communications background to develop recruiting campaigns geared toward both open market and college candidates and manage the annual benefits open enrollment communications campaign, increasing participation in underutilized benefits and bringing production in-house in order to gain efficiencies. Kathi also served on the team to design a shared business services communications organization in order to reduce functional redundancies and increase the effectiveness of internal resources.
